Choosing hotel and restaurant management felt logical — it’s a versatile field that allows you to try yourself in various areas.

Preparing for admission was a crucial stage. I was advised to focus on learning Czech in advance, and that really helped. I started studying with confidence and adapted quite quickly to the new country and environment.

The major itself turned out to be very interesting. It's not just about restaurants or hotels — it’s about management and creating a service that leaves people with great memories. What I liked the most was seeing the connection between all those areas: from finance and marketing to the psychology of hospitality.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, I had a great opportunity to intern at Hilton. That was my first real work experience, and it helped me understand that I was truly interested in marketing. I saw how brands communicate with their clients, how every little detail matters. That experience confirmed my interests and helped me define my next steps."

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

"After finishing my bachelor’s, I decided to grow in the direction of marketing. It was important for me to learn how to work not only with the mass market but also with premium brands. That’s how I chose a Master’s program in London in Luxury Brand Management.

Studying in London gave me a lot. I realized that working in the luxury segment is about deeply understanding the client — their needs and desires. You’re not just selling a product; you’re creating a story that resonates with the client.

London also opened up the world of professional opportunities to me — or more precisely, confirmed all the stereotypes and stories about job hunting there that I didn’t believe before. The university helped a lot with interview preparation and resume reviews, but I always knew: if you want results, you can’t just wait — you have to act.

During my studies, I tried to make the most of every opportunity and looked for part-time jobs. Employers value not only knowledge but also experience, so I would advise all students to try different directions while studying. It was thanks to this practical experience that I realized marketing is my element."

"After completing my master’s degree, I returned to Prague because this is where I feel most comfortable. I started looking for a job and, thanks to my experience and education, I found the perfect position within just a few weeks. Anyone who’s been through a job search knows that it doesn’t always happen that quickly.

Now I work as a financial advisor and marketing manager in a company that serves premium clients. This job demands attention to detail, market understanding, and continuous development. I apply all the knowledge I gained — both in the Czech Republic and in London.

I can clearly see how my efforts and education paid off. But most importantly, I always knew what I wanted. Even when challenges came up, I can’t say I ever doubted my path — maybe just felt a stronger desire to move forward and reach my goals.

One of my current goals is to reach a top-management level, work on large-scale projects, and of course, have a team to support me. But the most important thing for me is the feeling that I’m on the right track. I know I’m doing something I truly enjoy, and that feeling brings real satisfaction."
